For vast majority of travelers, Myanmar is safe to visit.

Myanmar is a developing country with recent opening up to the world. Accept that facilities may not be the best.

Carry toilet paper in your bag. You can buy it at most of the shops.

Carry insect repellent especially when you visit the rural areas.

Beware of snake when trekking through paddy fields or flower fields. Always wear boots and long pants when walking to the areas where snakes may be presents.

Hike with at least one companion. The best is to hike with local guide.

Hitching is never entirely safe in any country in the world.

Be sensible. Beware of cheats, swindlers, imposters.

Don’t leave expensive items in your room. Use safe deposit box.
