Dala – Twantay One Day Guided Tour ( DY09 )

Full day tour from Yangon with English speaking guide.

This tour will give you an idea about the laid-back relaxing rural lifestyle, not needing to go far from Yangon City. Starting the tour from Pansodan Ferry Jetty to Dala Ferry Jetty by crossing Yangon River. Observe the local people’s daily activities and enjoy Yangon river view. On arrival to Dala, take a trishaw tour which takes about 2-3 hours. Visiting local markets and just touring in the relaxing environment of Dala is enjoyable. The landmark of Dala is Shwe Saryan Pagoda where the mummified body of a monk is kept in the glass case for 150 years. After having lunch, take an air-con car (or hire a local air-con taxi) to Twantay, which is another small town with rural lifestyle. The places to visit in Twantay are Snake Pagoda, Kyaik Phu Kyaik Par Pagoda, Shwe San Taw Pagoda which is said to contain a couple of Buddha’s hairs and weaving workshops and pottery workshops. Twantay is known for its pottery. In the late afternoon, take an air-con car back to Yangon’s Botahtaung Jetty where you can enjoy the sunset.
