Yangon-Mandalay-Amarapura-Ava-Mingun-Pyin Oo Lwin-Hsipaw-Lashio-Yangon

Day 1 – Yangon Airport Pick-up and Sight-seeing in Yangon

Day 2 – Sight-seeing in Yangon

Day 3 – Mandalay-Amarapura-Ava-Sagaing-Mandalay

Day 4 – Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay (by boat and car)

Day 5 – Mandalay Tea Shop Foodies Trishaw Half Day Tour – Pyin Oo Lwin

Day 6 – Pyin Oo Lwin

Day 7 – Pyin Oo Lwin – Gokteik Viaduct – Hsipaw

Day 1 – Arrive Yangon (by morning flight)

Upon arrival Yangon, tour guide will welcome you at the airport. Collect your tour program from your tour guide. Drive to hotel and check-in. Visit National museum. In the afternoon , visit Chaukhtutkyi Pagoda (reclining Buddha), U Thant House, Martyrs Mausoleum, Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 – Sight-seeing in Yangon

Drive to Downtown area from hotel. Morning Sight-seeing Walking tour includes Sule Pagoda, Stop in front of City Hall, Mahar Bandula Park with Independent monument,  hight court buildings and downtown area. In the afternoon, visit Bo Gyote (Scott) market, Botahtaung Pagoda and enjoy sunset from Botahtaung jetty. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3 – Mandalay-Amarapura-Ava-Sagaing-Mandalay

Fly to Mandalay with morning flight. Local tour guide will welcome you at the airport. Drive to Amarapura (the city of Immortal) about 45 minutes and visit Mahargandayone monastry, famous U Bein Bridge (return for sunset), and silk-weaving cottage industry.  Take a boat to cross Myitnge River to Ava (used to be capital of Myanmar Kingdom since 1364). Take a horse cart to explore the ruins of old royal capital including famous Bagayar Monastery of 1834 with splendid teak wood, Nan Myint Tower (the unique evidence of old Inwa Palace) and Mahar Aungmyay Bonezan (MenuOakKyaung) brick monastery. In the afternoon, visit Sagain – silverware making at Yahtaun Village, Sagain Hill (notes as a religious retreat and has old monasteries and nunneries), Umin-thonese Pagoda and Son-U-Ponyashin Pagoda. Overnight at hotel in Mandalay.

Day 4 – Mandalay-Mingun-Mandalay (by boat and car)

In the morning, visit to Mahamyatmuni Pagod, marble stone curving workshop, wood curving/tapestry/marionette making workshop, traditional gold leaf making industry, Shwenandaw (Golden Monastry), UNESCO listed Kuthodaw pagodas with 729 stone tablets (known as World’s largest book), Mandalay Royal Palace and Mandalay Hill where you can enjoy 360 degree view of Mandaly city. After lunch, take a boat trip for about an hour to Mingun to see Mingun Bell (World’s largest untracked ringing bell), Myatheindan pagoda with distinct architectural style, Phahtodawgy Pagoda (famous unfinished pagoda) and Aged Care Centre. Return back to Mandalay by boat. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5 – Mandalay Tea Shop Foodies Trishaw Half Day Tour – Pyin Oo Lwin

Experience food tour by classic bicycle rickshaw, a leisurely way to take in the passing suburban scenes. Sample the famous delicacies of Myanmar. Mohinga, noodles, Mandalay pancakes, samosa, palatta, and green tea leaf salad. Stretch your legs at a colourful local market where your guide will give you some unique insights into local customs and culture. In the afternoon, we will leave to Pyin Oo Lwin and visit Anee Sakhan (Dat Taw Gyint) Waterfall, which will involve an hour hiking up and an hour down. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6 – Pyin Oo Lwin

After breakfast, visit Botanical Garden with collections of flowers and plants including orchid garden and butterflies garden. Pate Chin Myaung Cave which houses the different sizes of Buddha images. Pwe Kaut Waterfall. In the evening, will visit to Mahar Ent Htoo Kan Thar pagoda. Overnight at hotel.

Day 7 – Pyin Oo Lwin – Gokteik Viaduct – Hsipaw

After breakfast, from Pyin Oo Lwin Railway station, take a train ride crossing the Gokteik Viaduct, 689-meter single track standing over 100 meters, the highest bridge in Myanmar and get off the train at Nawngpen village. The train takes three and half hours from Pyin Oo Lwin to Nawngpen village. From there, the driver will pick you up to head to Hsipaw, previously well-known Shan Sawbwa State. Sawbwas were the rulers of Shan State until military croup in 1960s. On arrival, will visit Little Bagan, Shan Palace of the last Sawbwa. Then, to Thein Taung (Nine Buddha Hill) to watch sunset.

Day 8/9 – Trek/bike in Hsipaw

Hsipaw is a charming and laid-back town, well-known for trekking. After visiting the confluence of Dotthawaddy river by taking a pleasant boat ride and Shan village on the way in the morning, take two day trekking or biking to waterfalls, hot springs, the river, local villages, market and shrines with one night sleep at a Pa Laung tribe village. (There are few trekking options from one day trek to three day/two nights trek.)

Day 10 – Flight to Yangon from Lashio

In the morning, drive to Lashio to catch the flight to Yangon.
